The Duke of George, Brush Factory - East Fremantle, Western Australia
The Duke of George is a newly constructed jazz and blues bar, hosting live performances of local and touring artists in the heritage listed Brush Factory. The historical building, which once was a broom manufacturing factory, offers blues, jazz, folk and soul performances ranging from a mix of house bands to ticketed acts. The Duke of George is the latest addition to East Fremantle’s music scene, catering for shows, functions and events, and capable of seating more than 200 people. The venue is influenced by the southern hospitality of New Orleans, reflected in its beverages, food and, of course, music.
The Duke of George underwent a lighting upgrade, working closely with H.I Lighting to introduce the latest LED technology supplied by Versalux, providing a new lighting solution to create a vibrant and lively atmosphere, perfect for the needs of an entertainment venue. The client’s brief was met as a fundamental part of the restaurant’s visual experience in creating, preserving and enhancing the essence and character of the facility through exceptional illumination for performers, staff and guests alike.
For the lounge areas, ALBA 195 Pendants have been selected for their stylish appearance and versatility as a modest lighting system that attracts guest’s attention. The luminaires, with their quasi-architectural/industrial visage create a perfect transition from the industrial styled exposed ceilings to the cool chic of the seated areas. The ALBA 195 Pendants deliver a comfortable and cosy environment, providing accented general illumination with a pleasant visual experience. A combination of carefully selected colour temperatures and colour rendering highlights the colour and quality of various foods and beverages, creating a favourable impact as a new and enjoyable dining and cocktail experience.
For corridor areas, the ALBA 125 Pendants were surface mounted upon white plaster ceilings. The luminaires enhance the architectural features of the thick double brick black walls and marble tiles delivering high-performance illumination, quality output and exceptional visual comfort for all guests to securely transition through different areas of The Duke of George.
