Forsyth Barr House – Dunedin, New Zealand
Forsyth Barr House is a wealth management and investment advisory firm with their head office located in Dunedin, New Zealand, on the well-known west side of the iconic Octagon. The building underwent a complete renovation by McAullife Stevens Architects and Grounds Electrical bringing a 1960s structure into the twenty-first century through considerable improvements of a full makeover to turn Forsyth Barr House into a productive, cosy, and modern structure.
Throughout the commercial project, Versalux, Grounds Electrical, and McAullife Stevens Architects worked closely together. The Forsyth Barr and Leonard Holdings provided a brief that called upon innovative lighting solutions by Versalux to be fitted throughout the luxury workplace of the investment organisation and work in tandem with natural light, amongst the open spaces, so employees could stay alert while optimising productivity in the workplace.
The INFINITI is a high performance LED system designed by Versalux. The luminaires are suspended from the plaster ceilings, strategically placed throughout the meeting room as a modern architectural piece for the room. The distinct placement of each luminaire brings a welcoming atmosphere with great appeal of contrasting colours between the white walls and black luminaires surrounded by floor to ceiling windows. The INFINITI luminaires produce vibrant illumination whilst minimising shadows and unwanted glare.
A multi-element recessed LED downlight called the VENICE 2 RPV is installed into the plastered ceilings of numerous meeting rooms. Recessed, circular luminaires in two gang formation for the VENICE 2 RPV. The narrow beam optic options effectively highlight the environment on the outer of the room whilst complimenting the primary INFINITI luminaires on the inner to make individuals feel alert and refreshed as the two different Versalux luminaires work together. The matt black finish of the VENICE 2 RPV, along with the reflector’s outstanding glare control and strong light output, allow for comfortable surroundings and the free flow of thoughts and ideas to be shared in a welcoming atmosphere.
The INFINITI series is wire suspended into the ceilings of Forsyth Barr House’s reception centre. The INFINITI makes a visually appealing statement in the newly renovated commercial office space with minimal colours, styles, and furnishings. The interior design is complimented by the versatile and unobtrusive TORINO series of LED stripes, as it produces illumination in simple lines to synchronise the architecture features of the ground floor. Employees and visitors can enter and exit the reception area to communicate, move around, and collaborate in a peaceful environment.
