A leading specialty business focused on design, engineering, planning, building, and project management, AECOM has 20 offices across Australia and New Zealand. Their ACT Office has shifted its operations to a new, modern building located in the central business district of Canberra, designed to ensure a working environment that is versatile, multi-functional, and has an open plan atmosphere to meet its employees needs in an agile setting.

AECOM Australia chose to utilise Versalux’ services as a supplier of reliable lighting systems to make the move towards a modern workplace and to illuminate the entire commercial floor of AECOM. The aim was to create an enticing multi-purpose commercial environment for their clients in terms of luminaire design and lighting, to create a stylish ambience, a chic architecture and to promote collaboration in a highly integrated office space.

LUCCA PENDANT’s are wire suspended throughout the breakout areas, the choice of their sleek black finish ensuring a contrasting touch as the luminaires become a main feature of the environment. The LUCCA PENDANT’s luminaires draw the eye into the interior spaces, and their direct-indirect optics combined with low-profile circular aspects create a comfortable immersive space with excellent colour rendition. The result is tastefully-lit tables, and upholstery on the chairs and bench seats, and in tandem with proximity to the windows a comfortable, relaxing environment is delivered through the combination of natural and artificial light sources.

The VENICE PENDANT luminaires, also wire suspended and featuring quality aluminium construction, perfectly complement the LUCCA PENDANT feature lighting. VENICE PENDANT’s allow a designer to deliver both an elegant visual statement and a functional lighting result for an open-plan office collaboration area, through an approach to indoor interior lighting that embraces a clean aesthetic and efficient appeal for a trendy environment. VENICE PENDANT’s direct lighting distribution and its high-purity aluminium reflector ensures consistent, glare-free illumination for a vibrant interior design that supports a flexible and multi-functional space, highlighting the architecture of the building. The collaborative space feature wooden collaborative work benches amply lit by the VENICE PENDANT to create a level of comfort as an adaptable office space for employees to sit and relax, exchange ideas, work together as a team, and meet with colleagues and clients.
