Arcadis Australia Pacific has been operating for over 75 years, recently relocating its head office from North Sydney to Sydney’s CBD with over 450 of its staff transferring to the new premises. The modernised facilities have created a more agile, collaborative and flexible working environment for its employees with a positive atmosphere. Arcadis’s head office layout features numerous open space areas with a modern styled workplace design.
Versalux collaborated closely with WMK Architecture and Arcadis Sydney, to invent a customised lighting design that put a strong emphasis on architecturally inspired luminaires. The innovative solution by Versalux was designed to match various open-plan work settings, encouraging flexible and collaborative hot desking and coworking of shared office spaces.
The ALBA Pendant 125 is one of Versalux’s most desired interior luminaires. A standout fitting due to its proportions, design, and versatility, the fixtures were wire suspended from the industrial styled exposed ceilings to appear as a more visually spacious environment.
The INFINITI is a popular luminaire for commercial environments due to its outstanding performance and sleek appearance. Customised to be wall mounted for all Arcadis Sydney’s Focus Room’s, the luminaires were positioned inside a fabricated steel wall bracket. The INFINITI products are the highlight of the Focus Room, minimalistic in design with a multifunctional layout, creating an energetic and inviting space through illuminating the ambience of the space to increase collaboration, productivity and team building 1:2 seating ratio.
The INFINITI was also installed as a linear lighting system suspended by stainless-steel wires, producing horizontal and vertical illumination for the communal tables; the solution allows colleagues to share resources and technologies with built-in workshops, training and networking in a relaxing yet inviting setting. The luminaires were suspended from exposed industrial ceilings to brighten the shared desk spaces, strategically placed to be the centre of attention, and promoting movement between spaces of desks, breakout spaces, and hallway areas. Colleagues and clients have the luxury of the choosing which workspace best suits their needs at the new Arcadis head office, serving all users well for decades to come.
