Canterbury - Bankstown Council, Customer Service Centre - Bankstown, New South Wales
Canterbury – Bankstown Council is the largest council in NSW, holding a strategic position in the region to cover 41 metropolitan suburbs. With a population of over 378,000 residents it is well known for its transport and freight corridors as well as for its health and education district. The Canterbury – Bankstown Council Customer Service Centre is situated south-west of Sydney’s CBD within a large area of native bushland, sporting facilities, and arts centres.
Working in close collaboration with the Council, Prominent Construction and MODE Design, Versalux delivered multiple lighting systems to have a significantly positive impact on the upgraded Service Centre. The resulting scheme gives workers and visitors a better experience of the centre utilising high performance and aesthetically pleasing fixtures that have transformed the administration building into a functional and sustainable centre.
VENICE 2 PLATE luminaires have been integrated into the administration areas plastered ceilings. The VENICE 2 PLATE’s are recessed, circular luminaire modules configured in a three gang arrangement, and have been mounted between a series of wooden baffles. The strategic positioning of the VENICE 2 PLATE enables users occupying the area to feel comfortable yet alert, with the narrow beam optic fixtures effectively highlighting the environment. The VENICE 2 PLATE’s high purity faceted aluminium reflector provides excellent glare control and high light output allows the staff to operate efficiently in a modern architectural interior to complete tasks, handle enquiries, and provide guidance in a pleasant, concierge service-style setting.
The linear INFINITI family, designed and made in Australia by Versalux, is an elite, high-performance LED lighting system. As a unique centrepiece for the Customer Service Centre, the excellent INFINITI luminaires are surface-mounted in continuous runs on the modular panelled ceilings of the open plan multi-purpose room. For an excellent contrast that makes a bold statement in the interior space, the refurbished Customer Service Centre facility has been transformed with vivid colours, designs, and décor. In both aesthetics and longevity, the minimalistic INFINITI luminaire continues to surprise, offering direct homogeneous illumination to meet the needs of users who use the space for a variety of activities from meetings, collaborative work and reading. The low glare optics of the INFINITI luminaires allow users in a well-balanced environment to interact, collaborate and transit across the interior space without compromising the general ambience.
The COMO BLACK series of LED downlights are a high performance and a technologically advanced fixture. The COMO BLACK series have been recessed effortlessly into the white ceiling and the luminaires set the interior tone for the architectural elements of the open planned administrative and reception area. The COMO BLACK series is specifically built for internal environments, flaunting their wealth of features in educational, retail, and commercial settings.
The COMO BLACK fixtures use its multi-faceted refractor to highlight the white and brown wall and grey carpet surfaces for a powerful effect. The COMO BLACK provides soft illumination to the office desk and surrounding areas, which are efficiently illuminated for both employees and visitors – achieving both uniformity of illumination to fulfill their tasks and vertical illumination for social interactions, engaging with peers and visitors from the beginning to the end of their working day whilst minimising glare and reduce eye strain while staying alert in a friendly space to support the concierge service setting.
