MONASH UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDIA, FILM & JOURNALISM - CAULFIELD, MELBOURNE
Working in conjunction with consulting engineers BCS Building Construction Services and electrical contractor Comselec Services, Versalux has provided the interior lighting for the new multi-million dollar facility at Monash University’s School of Media, Film and Journalism.
This state-of-the-art media centre, based on Level 5 of Building B at Caulfield, is an integrated teaching and production/research set facility incorporating staff and student work spaces, including:
- Two laboratory/classrooms each with 24 student computer terminals, e-lecterns, interactive screens and optical-fibre cabling for synchronous and asynchronous blended teaching/learning activities;
- Two radio/sound production studios with an adjacent control-room/audio production and teaching suite;
- An open-plan newsroom which is the central hub of student activity.
The ICON linear system has been featured throughout the classrooms and studios in a combination of ceiling/wall surface mounted and wall recessed mounted modules.
The ALBA R 195 ceiling surface mounted cylindrical downlights have been used to illuminate the production studios.
The ALBA R downlight and MIRROR linear wall light have been used to illuminate the bathrooms.
