Peacock Point Reserve - Balmain East, New South Wales
Peacock Point Reserve, a heritage-listed public reserve in Balmain East, Sydney’s inner west, is a beautiful park with a walking trail, playground, and wooden viewing platform surrounded by water amongst the cliffs.
Versalux worked closely with the Inner West Council, Macsparx Electrical & Data, and John R Turk Electrical Leichhardt to bring the Peacock Point Reserve’s urban landscape to life with a retrofit lighting solution that would revitalise the heritage precinct and transform the entire space for all users accessing the multi-use communal reserve.
Peacock Park Reserve redesigned the area and needed luminaires that were durable and dependable enough to be used for years to come. Versalux consulted with the Inner West Council to select the best luminaires from our wide product range that would satisfy each of their criteria, ultimately selecting the SATURN P series of yoke-mounted pole-top luminaires. These Versalux luminaires are tailored for illuminating pedestrian-focused landscape areas and excel in this type of exterior solution.
The upgraded SATURN luminaires were placed in an asymmetrical pattern on the edge of the footpath leading through the park grounds, illuminating the paths, and guiding visitors throughout Peacock Park Reserve to provide pleasant illumination with an impressive lighting experience for this one of a kind public space. The SATURN series is long-lasting and corrosion-resistant, with an IP65 rating that allows it to withstand all weather conditions. The SATURN series illuminates the park with its wide beam light distribution, providing quality vertical and horizontal illumination across the paths and lush greenery.
The SATURN P pole top luminaire with its flowing yoke-style design draw visitors’ attention and set the tone for a warm and welcoming atmosphere by integrating the lighting concept along trees, pathways, and seating areas that overlook two of Sydney’s most iconic sites, Darling Harbour and the incredible Sydney Harbour Bridge.
