The Shellharbour Airport services Wollongong and the neighbouring southern suburbs of regional New South Wales. It is approximately 21kms from the Wollongong Central Business District (CBD) in the Illawarra region, and is the largest airport in rural NSW.

The Shellharbour Airport Development is a new $20.35 million government and council co-contribution project that has seen new runway overlays, runway lighting, and additional aircraft car parks, as well as a new terminal building introduced at the airport. The transformation to the facility has allowed for better service to the community by supporting planned expansion of aircraft traffic and improving reliability in a variety of weather conditions.

Shellharbour Airport required high-performance exterior luminaires to serve the airport’s extended car park.
