STEEL CEMENT - Yarraville, Melbourne
Versalux Lighting Systems, in close collaboration with Bell Wiggins Electrical, has recently supplied lighting across the Steel Cement site in Yarraville. This facility manufactures fast setting cementitious binders that are effective in road and soil stabilisation and mining applications. The project demanded a number of different types of lighting fixtures to provide illumination in very diverse applications, and Versalux’ broad range of luminaires was able to fulfill all requirements.
The VRL LED lighting “tube”, the most versatile fixture in our range, was heavily relied upon for its excellent performance, light distribution and its myriad features and benefits. The lighting solution utilised a number of its possible configurations and variations, including a non-maintained (NATA classified) emergency version. The VRL’s flexibility in mounting and aiming made it one of the only fixtures suitable for lighting some of the “hard to get to” areas as well as the more open areas where uniformity and low glare were important factors. The site is also a semi-marine environment, meaning a corrosion resistant fitting with a minimum IP65 rating was paramount.
The HANGAR LED was also utilised in the MILL shed to provide a high powered lighting solution for general areas where a more classic highbay/lowbay distribution was prudent.
The exterior and road lighting requirements were effectively met by the PULSAR 400 IP66 H.P.S floodlight fixture, which is highly prized for its durability and its superior optical performance.
