The PCYC (Police Citizen Youth Club) Community Centre is a leading youth focused organisation offering a variety of activities for young people and adults. PCYC operates in 64 locations across New South Wales. The organisation invested $25 million to construct an ultra-modern facility in Dee Why. The newly created building comprises of an impressive layout featuring two first-class multi-use indoor sports courts, a youth drop-in centre and study area, three multi-purpose community rooms, youth counselling space and a 248-car park area.

The project saw Versalux work closely together with FJMT and Medland Metropolis through the planning and construction stages to devise a vibrant outdoor exterior lighting solution which turned their client’s vision into a reality.

PCYC required a strong and dependable bollard, they reviewed Versalux’ vast product range of bollard and in-ground luminaires, opting for the Zefiro series due to its high-quality aluminium construction and weatherproof design suitable to withstand harsh weather conditions.

The Zefiro series are surface mounted installed onto the concrete surface and strategically placed on both sides of the exterior pathways. Each Zefiro bollard blends in seamlessly to the design and aesthetics of the building and highlights the landscapes lush green surroundings.

The optics of the Zefiro’s symmetric distribution supply safe, low glare vertical illumination for pedestrian traffic and give a sense of security when entering and leaving the centre.
